The Orisha Oshumare is the serpent of Creation that by coiling and constricting our planet Earth, was able to condense matter and help give form to our material world. Their serpentine dance draws valleys and mountains; spins planets and stars, as well as moves all elements, and renovates cycles of mother Earth. The power of Renovation vibrates in the skin of Oshumare, which for a season sheds into a female embodied snake. In the wet season, Oshumare sheds into a masculine semblance that blesses Earth by bringing the rain from the sky. The sunlight reflected in the rain droplet shines the rainbow, which is the gorgeous mantle of Oshumare. He brings fertility to Earth, as well as prosperity for their children of faith.
