ORI & 4 CROWN ORISHAS
The Orisha’s spiritual energy called Axé is stored in our physical head. The head as an energetic vessel is called Ori. It is where the divinity dwells, supporting our crown and a number of chakras that work with subtle energies.

The word òrì+ṣà means: the guide of one’s head or destiny

The Ori contains information about one’s destiny that was delimited in a balance between free will and the dynamic of the Universe organized by Olorum Creator. The Ori’s destiny can be decoded in an ancient Youruba mathematical system of the Cowry Shell Oracle.

The Umbanda Ori system - 4 personal Crown Orishas

The Umbanda Ori system establishes the personal Crown Orishas in an orientation session, not necessarily based on an oracle reading. It will confirmed your 4 personal Crown Orishas in a dialogue between the mentor’s Spiritual Guide and the Orisha’s qualities present in your life. The symbols behind the Orisha’s knowledge are important directions to unveil the personal Orishas. They are based on ancient stories called Itans.

The ritualistic process goes beyond only learning about the designated Orishas. The Axé energy of the 4 personal Orishas will be anchored in an in personal ritualistic Blessing.

The energetic work also includes other ritualistic practices such as: taking herbal Axé showers, making special offerings, setting up altars, lighting candles, making Guia necklaces, etc. In Umbanda, is absolutely necessary to have some level of practice inside of a routine to maintain the Axé activate with the Orishas.

Everyone is welcome to pray and connect with every single Orisha. However, in Umbanda it is established 4 personal Crown Orishas to have a more direct relationship and receive the Axé energetic support to accomplish one’s life goals or destiny.

2 FRONT ORISHAS
The Front Orishas are the main Orishas that work in your Crown right in front. We dearly call them Mother and Father. They bring balance to your emotional and mind-conscious bodies, guiding your personality.

GUARDIAN ORISHA
This is the Orisha that protects your Crown. Anytime you need extra protection you will connect with the Orisha Guardian. This Orisha works with your subconscious-mind body and hidden elements of your personality.

ORISHA ANCESTRAL
This is the Orisha that guides you spirituality and has been with you in many different lifetimes. The Orisha Ancestral works with your collective consciousness and spiritual body.

It is important to always make an Axé maintenance and take a good care of the head by: having hygienic habits; making specific herbal showers; wearing special blessed head wrap as a energetic filter and protection; as well as keeping the ritualistic practices, and participating in ceremonies to receive Axé energy from the Orishas. The learning process of Axé energy achievement and management is anchored in the establishment of the relationship between the person and the Orishas.

There are different levels of anchoring an Orisha in one’s Ori. The Ori will be fully made specifically when they become a Priest or Priestess.

Also, different orientations from distinct mentors could determine different personal Orishas in the Crown. We recommend persevere with the first orientation from a trustful mentor to avoid confusion. A previous orientation from a trustful source will be considered in our orientation.

The relationship with the Orishas is built inside of a guided mediumship development process. The person will be learning practices and rituals from a mentor to respectfully work inside of the divine Axé thread, keep alive the connection with the ancient African source, and exchange the Axé energy of goodness with others as part of the Axé Spiritual Service.

Please be careful and respectful to not randomly try to guess people Crown”s Orishas. The determination of the 4 Orishas in someone’s Crown is a delicate and serious work that needs to be carefully done specifically by an Umbanda mentor, inside an orientation session.
